Diamond Rats are a perfect 6-0 in Charleston Memorial Day Weekend
The 2010, 2011 and 2012 Diamond Rats kicked off the showcase season going 6-0 in a rain shortened weekend in Charleston, SC.
2010 Game 1 vs. Diamond Devils 18U: Owen Little pitched 5 strong innings limiting the Devils to 1 unearned run. Brad Zebedis, Leighton Daniels and Justin Ide each went yard. Truett Langdon and Tyler Smith had 2 hits a piece.
Game 2 vs. Charleston Storm 18U: Great game featuring tough pitching and great defense. Bruce Neale started on the bump for the Diamond Rats giving up the only run of the game. The Storm’s right hander kept the d’Rats bats at bay through 6 innings, but two hit batsmen led off the seventh, running the starter, and the bats came alive pounding out two big sac fly’s to put the D’Rats ahead 2-1.
2011 Game 1 vs. Shockwave: LJ Newman smashed his first left handed home run of the young season in to the tree tops at Wando South and Lukas laSalle goes three for 6 with 5 RBI as the Diamond Rats proved too much for the Shockwave winning 7-5.
Game 2 vs. Diamond Devils 15U: Ethan Garrett pitched 4 strong innings giving up just 2 hits and one run. Brandon Loren pitched 2 hitless innings in relief. Final score D’Rats 7, Devils 1.
2012 Game 1 vs. Shockwave 15U: Josh Arrage gets the call from the 14U Cougars and pitches 3 solid innings in his D’Rats debut. Sidewinder Lee Harrison throws one inning with 2 K. Chapman Gardner closes it out with three strong in relief giving up just one run and striking out 4. Tyler Byrnes is 2-3 with a double. Andrew Tomosovich 3-4 with a double, and Keith Davis goes 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI.
Game 2 vs. Shockwave 16U: Tim Kallal and Keith Davis combine to throw a 3 run 4 hit game. Big hitters for the Diamond Rats were Trey Harris 2-3 with a double and Keith Davis, 2-3.
